My first College Coaching Position was working with George Maier & his staff at Pace University. A learned a lot from Coach Maier, Skip Mongon & John Hagen. But the NY Giants were training at Pace so I went to the Bill Arnsparger school of Defense. I literally shadowed Coach Arnsparger during their practices etc. & I came away with a great understanding of the 34 Defense. He said “You can’t coach offense if you don’t know defense” He also  said the key is put a defender in every gap & make the ball go East/West”
