The theme for this week is MISDIRECTION. Today’s defenses are faster than defenses of the past. Not just because the athletes are faster but because there is more speed positions on the field. The 4-2-5 Defense is fast becoming the most popular defense. Playing with 5 DBs makes a Defense faster.

Sun Tzu said the basis of the Art of War is DECEPTION. I football terminology that’s Misdirection. The Triple Gun majors in deception, distraction & illusion. Plus we do it without teaching new schemes.

Today we look at a very effective Misdirection Play with almost no teaching. It’s the Flip Ice TB Draw.

1. The O. Line blocks the same assignments as ISO blocking but by adding the word”Draw” the pay show pass then “Kick Ass”
2. The Off Slot goes in Flip Motion & becomes the lead blocker on the OLB. Note: we could eliminate the Flip Motion & tag it Stick & it becomes an RPO.
3.  Tailback takes a step like pass blocking & takes the handoff when the QB shows the ball
