Another young coach that I had the privilege to coach is Joe Schartz from Dodge City, Kansas. Joe played Quarterback for me at Washburn University. He set a lot of school records & some MIAA conference records. He was inducted into the Washburn Hall of Fame.
His success on the playing field was followed by his success on the sidelines. Joe is the Head Football coach at Manhattan HS in Manhattan, Kansas. His record at Manhattan HS is 141 – 32  with Two Kansas 6A State Championships.  Before Joe took over the program, Manhattan’s last State Championship was in 1988.
