My Take on The Semi-Final Round of the CFB Playoffs

  1. Notre Dame 27 Penn St. 24 Another great game in the College Football Playoffs. Two outstanding teams in a very physical game. Penn St. dominated the first half but the dominance only produced 10 points.  PSU QB Drew Allar struggled & missed some wide open receivers which cost the Lions points. ND got back in the game with an unlikely unsung hero, backup Quarterback, Steve Angeli. Angeli completed 6 of 7 & got ND on the board with a Field Goal. The second half went back & forth. ND lucked into a TD when a Lion CB slipped down leaving WR Greathouse open for TD. Allar’s ill-advised throw was picked off leading to The Irish’s Winning FG!  The only Meaningful Stat was Notre Dame  got 25+ points (27).
  2. Ohio St. 28  Texas  14—  The Buckeye from Ohio St. had a hard fought win over The Texas Longhorns to move to The College Football Championship vs The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. The biggest turnaround in the Game was Ohio Stare’s Goal Line stand late in the 4th Quarter. UT trailing by 7 had 1st & Goal on the One yard line & couldn’t get then tried a pass with a sack a fumble and a scoop & score by OSU finished off The Horns 28 – 14! An even game to that point. Ohio State Dominated the Meaningful Stat Game – The scored 25+ (28) they held Texas to less than 16 (14) and they had a Non Offensive TD on the Scoop and Score fumble return.
