Little Things That Win Big Games
We’re proud to announce that my newest book “Little Things That Win Big Games” is now available in Paperback at Amazon.
This is a unique book because it can be used in any system and it presents you with numerous ideas from a variety of coaches. For example we have Hal Mumme, father of the Air Raid Offense and Greg Gregory who made his bones running the Wishbone at Army.
Here’s more about this book :
Little Things that Win Big Games is a compilation of articles, book reviews, interviews and other resources that can help you win football games. Many of these resources can also be used by teachers, business people or anyone who has to make decisions that directly affect the success or failure of an organization.
The book is divided & organized into easy-to-read sections, including:
Winning Football – This section includes articles on topics that influenced my philosophy and approach to coaching. Team Building ideas, building and maintaining team morale and methods that can be useful for turning programs around are some of the topics discussed.
Tactics and Strategy – This section includes tactics and stratagems that I used over the years to give my teams a competitive edge.
Leadership – This section is devoted to the art of Leadership and is filled with ideas that I picked up in 40 years of coaching. Many times, the difference between victory and defeat comes down to the guy leading the charge. I included some excerpts from my book Commonsense Rules for Everyday Leaders , ideas from many great leaders, and a handful of inspirational poems by Ralph Waldo Emerson, Rudyard Kipling etc.
Book Reviews – This section includes 50 book reviews and summaries of books from highly successful authors. I give a brief synopsis of each book and include highlights from each one. I chose the books that provided me with the best ideas – often for handling difficult situations.
Interviews – This section reflects the adage “There’s more than one way to skin a cat”. There are interviews that I conducted with a variety of coaches covering their philosophies, strategy, and advice to other coaches. I probe into the areas of excellence that are specific to each coach. All were outstanding coaches who provide insightful tips and great advice on being successful.
Little Things that Win Big Games is a different kind of book from me, and is the perfect complement to Tony DeMeo’s Triple Gun Offense: An Evolution of Option Football.
Take a look at the sample at Amazon and I think you will agree…
