Lincoln: The Persistent Leader

Abraham Lincoln faced many setbacks in his life that tested his resilience & his never quit attitude. That struggle to overcome the numerous setbacks made him yhe strong leader needed to save this nation  THINGS GO WRONG SO YOU GET STRONG 

Here are some of the setbacks Lincoln overcame

  • Lost his first run for the Illinois state legislature in 1832 (though he later won other terms).  
  • Defeated in several bids for higher office, including:
    • Failed nominations for Congress in the 1840s.  
    • Lost U.S. Senate races (1854 and 1858).  
    • Didn’t secure the Republican vice-presidential nomination in 1856.  

Then he faced The Civil War. Lincoln’s strength was the key ingredient to victory. His Second Inaugural Address may be the greatest speech he ever delivered – It says it all…
