Bama Bombs Bucks

Alabama proved a few things last night. First they are the best team in the land,. Second, their offensive was devastating & could have even better if DeVonta Smith plays in the second half. And third, maybe Notre Dame wasn’t so bad after all. How was OSU so outclassed? Let’s take a look:

  1. Bama’s O.Line coached by Kyle Flood was scary good. I’ve The ESPN crowd fawn over Asst. coaches but all night did not hear Kyle Flood’s name but let me tell you that line was as good as I’ve seen. Their run blocking & pass pro was awesome. They gave Mac Jones the time he needed to find some longer developing routes. The O. Line contrived the pace of the game.
  2. The Tides Defense is very underrated. Justin Fields’ stock did not go down, he’s as good as advertised but the Bucks’ Offense could NOT keep the Tide Offense off the field. Bama’s D took away OSU’s big play capability & forced multiple 3 & outs.
  3. Najee Harris didn’t gain a lot of yards but gained THEE yards. The clutch yards needed to move the chains. Harris’ yards after contact was critical to keeping Fields on the bench.
  4. DeVonta Smith runs super routes & Sarkesian used Whirley Motion & multiple formations to create the one on one matchups to free him up. I don’t know what DeVonta’s Speed is but he’s 2 steps faster than anyone chasing him.
  5. Mac Jones is more than a game manager, he benefits from the guys around him but the bottom line is he does what is asked of him & does it well. He Does His Job Which is really the story of this Alabama Football Team.
  6. Finally, whether like him or not, (for some reason in today’s world it’s not enough to be excellent, you must be likable) Nick Saban is breathing rarified air. He’s CFB’s answer to Bill Belichick. During the most difficult year of CFB, he molded this great group of young men into as good a team as you’ll see. Kudos to Nick Saban & his staff.
