The passing of Bill Russell was the passing of a great basketball player, a great leader, a great man & the Ultimate Team Player.

Bill Russell was the key component of the Celtic’s Dynasty. He was a great scorer in College for San Francisco University but he gave up his role as a prolific scorer to become the greatest defensive center in history. His job in Red Auerbach’s scheme was to play defense & rebound.  Auerbach always said ’ I don’t want the 5 best on the court, I want the best 5 on the court”  Russell bought in & the rest is history. What a great lesson especially in today’s me, me, me world
