Football and Moneyball

Most coaches have either have read the book or seen the movie “Moneyball” …or both.

The story of Billy Beene of the Oakland  A’s building a team of guys that no one wants & a system to help those rejects could excel in.  I’ve had coaches ask me if I was influenced by Moneyball?  There a lot of similarities, but I was running Strategic Flexibility before Michael Lewis wrote his best seller.

The Triple Gun uses undersized O. Linemen & then uses “Smart Splits”  to make them better. We recruit SPEED at the skill positions & then use Route conversions to make them better.. we made an entire system of Strategic Flexibility where the play can morph into an entirely new play AFTER the snap based on Defensive reaction. It was unique & gave “have nots”  chance. See if you see any similarities to Moneyball

Here’s a great presentation explaining the “Culture of Moneyball”
