How to Fix of College Football Part II
This is the Part II of my piece on some suggestions on how to fix College Football
How does this get fixed?
Someone in Charge. The first thing that must be done immediately is getting a new sherif involved. Someone in charge of the portal/NIL process (My suggestion would be Nick Saban) . Then he must have an advisory council around him representing the Four Power conferences. Then add a representative from IAA, DII & DIII.
Regulations on The Transfer Portal. The Transfer Portal has to have rule to give order to it. Right now, there are no guardrails on the Portal. Here are some suggestions
Controlling NILs. The purpose of the NIL was to reward a player whose name, image & likeness was used to make money, so he could be compensated. However, that has been turned into promised money as an inducement to attend a particular university. This in turn has created bidding wars that are worst than the NFL. Here are suggested solutions.
Enforcement. A college football czar should be the person in charge of handling claims of cheating, tampering, and circumventing the process. He will have is Coaches Council for advisement. The penalties should be harsh early to make a statement. If a repeat offender list their portal privileges, that would send a powerful message.
These are just some thoughts to start to a process of corralling this mess before it gets away completely.
